Churp Churp Exclusive Screening – Final Destination 5

Category: Contest, Exclusive Screening, Malaysia |

“The lucky few survive the disaster.

And then one by one…Death comes for them all.”

When the death bell rings, you can’t ever escape; if it’s coming after you, it comes eagerly to collect its due!  Are you having goose bumps yet Churpers?

The long awaited supernatural horror-thriller film is finally here to open your eyes to the journey of tragic death! Director Steven Quale has never failed to add a more twisted than ever touch of death in his movies and the fifth instalment of Final Destination is no exception. What’s more, Final Destination 5 is shot in 3D so expect some over the top tragic scenes with this movie!

Read up on the Synopsis before you attempt to watch the movie!

No matter where you run, no matter where you hide…you can’t cheat death. Or can you?  In “Final Destination 5,” Death is just as omnipresent as ever, first revealing its menacing reality to a group of coworkers headed for a corporate retreat.  During the bus ride, Sam (Nicholas D’Agosto) has a premonition in which he and most of his friends, as well as numerous others, die in a horrific bridge collapse.  When his vision ends, events begin to mirror what he had seen, and he frantically ushers as many of his colleagues—including his friend, Peter (Miles Fisher), and girlfriend, Molly (Emma Bell)—away from the disaster before Death can claim them.

But these unsuspecting souls were never supposed to survive and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.

“Final Destination 5” was directed by Steven Quale, marking his feature film directorial debut.  The screenplay was written by Eric Heisserer, based on characters created by Jeffrey Reddick.  Producers Craig Perry and Warren Zide return for the fifth time, working with executive producers Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, Dave Neustadter, Erik Holmberg and Sheila Hanahan Taylor.

The film brings together an ensemble cast, including Nicholas D’Agosto (“Fired Up!,” TV’s “Heroes”), Emma Bell (“Frozen,” TV’s “The Walking Dead”), Miles Fisher (TV’s “Mad Men” and “Gossip Girl”), Courtney B. Vance (TV’s “Flash Forward,” “ER”) and Arlen Escarpeta (“Friday the 13th”), with David Koechner (“The Office,” “Anchorman”) and “Final Destination” franchise icon Tony Todd (“Hatchet II”).  Rounding out the cast are P.J. Byrne (“Dinner for Schmucks”), Ellen Wroe (TV’s “Huge”) and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (TV’s “The Bold and the Beautiful”).

Collaborating with Quale behind the scenes are director of photography Brian Pearson (“Drive Angry 3D,” “My Bloody Valentine 3D”); production designer David R. Sandefur (“Repo Men,” “Journey to the Center of the Earth”); editor Eric Sears (“Shooter”); visual effects supervisor Ariel Velasco Shaw (“Final Destination 3”); and costume designer Jori Woodman (“Eight Below”).  The music is by Brian Tyler (“Fast Five”).

New Line Cinema presents, a Practical Pictures/Zide Pictures production, “Final Destination 5.”  The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

The trailer looks promising!

Don’t scare yourself too much watching the trailer! Warner Bros will be giving out this golden chance for us Churpers to catch the real thing very soon! Churp Churp Exclusive Screening – Cowboys & Aliens

Category: Contest, Exclusive Screening, Malaysia |

Chilli & Durian. Barbie & Homer Simpson. Cowboys & Aliens.

What do these pairs have in common? Well, we at Churp Churp find the pairings slightly unconventional and some of us even had our eyebrows raised figuring out the connection between each of them to make up the odd pairs.

Cowboys and Aliens are indeed colliding on the golden screen and we’re happy to bring to you all the action in our next screening courtesy of United International Pictures! Wouldn’t it be interesting to find out how they would face each other?

Here’s something about the movie:

Blockbuster filmmaker Jon Favreau directs Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in an event film for summer 2011 that crosses the classic Western with the alien-invasion movie in a blazingly original way: Cowboys & Aliens.  Joined by an arsenal of top moviemakers—Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci—he brings an all-new action thriller that will take audiences into the Old West, where a lone cowboy leads an uprising against a terror from beyond our world.

1875.  New Mexico Territory.  A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist.  What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford).  It’s a town that lives in fear.

But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky.  Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.

Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation.  As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force.  With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents—townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors—all in danger of annihilation.  United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

The screenplay for Cowboys & Aliens is by Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman & Damon Lindelof and Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby, from a screen story by Fergus & Ostby and Steve Oedekerk.  It is based on Platinum Studios’ “Cowboys & Aliens” by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg.  Grazer, Howard, Kurtzman, Orci and Rosenberg produce.  Spielberg, Favreau, Denis L. Stewart, Bobby Cohen, Randy Greenberg and Ryan Kavanaugh executive produce.  www.cowboysandaliensmovie.com

We’re pretty sure you have your fair share of life changing, awesome night outs that give you the chills just thinking about it, and we wanna hear about them! ALL OF THEM IF WE CAN!

Synopsis

As the summer of 1988 winds down, three friends on the verge of adulthood attend an out-of-control party in celebration of their last night of unbridled youth. Recent MIT grad Matt Franklin (Topher Grace) should be working for a Fortune 500 company and starting his upward climb to full-fledged yuppie-hood. Instead, the directionless 23-year-old confounds family and friends by taking a part-time job behind the counter of Suncoast Video. But Matt’s silent protest against maturity comes to a screeching halt once his unrequited high school crush, Tori Frederking (Teresa Palmer), walks into the store. When she invites him to an epic, end-of-summer party, Matt thinks he finally might have a chance with the girl of his dreams. With his cynical twin sister Wendy (Anna Faris) and best friend Barry (Dan Fogler), Matt embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime evening. From stealing a car to a marriage proposal to an indescribable, no-holds-barred dance-off, these friends share experiences that will change the course of their lives on one unforgettable night in the Go-Go ’80s.
